Covid-19 FAQ

Covid-19 FAQ

Got a question about the Corona Covid-19 in our destinations, journeys, and our approach? No problemo!

Check out the FAQ below, and if your question isn’t there, feel free to open our messenger chat and CONTACT US!

-When is it safe to travel again to your destinations in Central America?

All the countries of the Central American union are open to the international community before the end of 2020 and since November (2,020) we have carried out with total satisfaction several expeditions in all our destinations.

We’re here waiting for you, now and whenever you are ready. Just trust your heart and intuition and tell us when!

Now we are implementing new minimum global standardized protocols that emphasize health, hygiene, and sanitation. Aligned with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and following the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Safe Travel protocols for tour operators.

We have been focusing on safety, comfort & health services since always, and now more than ever. We have passed all of our itineraries through a comprehensive audit & comprehensive risk assessment.

Most of our staff (from tour leaders, local guides, office workers and drivers) to our chain of suppliers, have completed the COVID-19 health and safety training and they were already vaccinated.

Yes. Before joining us and for everyone’s safety, we kindly ask you to give us a negative Covid-19 test. If you are already vaccinated, great, and if not, it does not matter. But please, bring a negative test. Your work team (tour leader, driver, local guides and other collaborators) are going to also present it to you before starting your trip.

First of all, it has not happened to us since we reactivate our operations, and if in any case, you or someone else on your journey has symptoms of COVID-19 while traveling. We are more than prepared to assist you in getting medical care following our authorities’ local health advice. Whether a test is required, the need to self-isolate (quarantine), or risk to other travelers in the group.

Health and safety protocols will be enacted if COVID-19 is confirmed. Informing local health authorities, the group of potential exposure, and sanitation protocols like deep cleaning and disinfecting accommodation and transport.

Please note that while we will help ensure that you get all the help and support you require, all expenses will need to be covered by you.

If you cannot continue traveling with us due to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, we will offer you a credit for the unused days of your trip.

Since the pandemic began, no international travel insurance had coverage in case of infection, however; now there are several insurances that can help you. Important to mention that there is no mandatory to have a regular travel insurance or a covid-19 travel insurance to travel to Central America.

We have made some changes to the activities or destinations to comply with local authorities’ advice or health and safety protocols.

Exactly what you read in our itineraries you are going to experience and much more.

Travel with your mind and heart wide open and a sense of flexibility is going to help you get the most out of your journey.

We follow the World Health Organization (WHO) advice and the different Central American countries regarding wearing masks.

The current recommendation is that if you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask to take care of a person with COVID-19, or in a destination with widespread community transmission and when physical distance is difficult. However, in some destinations, it may be compulsory to wear a mask in public or certain places; in these cases, we are following the local health authorities’ requirements.

You need to source your masks from home (FFP2). We recommend that you familiarize yourself with how to wear, handle and dispose of them.

We are working with our partners to provide hand sanitizer at accommodations, transport, and restaurants. But we also recommend bringing your supplies.

Our journeys are based on twin share accommodation. Most of them have a single supplement available for solo travelers who do not wish to share a room.

Our key areas

  • -Always on Support Team & Incident Response (24/7).
  • -Distancing & Hygiene Protocols.

Yes. Before joining us, you will need to complete a self-screening health form and report any symptoms and any contact with someone who has suspected or confirmed COVID-19.

If you have any symptoms or health concerns at this time, we will assist you in seeking medical advice, and you will not be permitted to join the trip. We ask all travelers to continue to monitor their health throughout their travels and report any relevant symptoms.

Suppose you or someone else on your journey has symptoms of COVID-19 while traveling with us. In that case, we will assist you in getting medical care following our authorities’ local health advice. Whether a test is required, the need to self-isolate (quarantine), or risk to other travelers in the group.

As far as we know, travel insurance will not cover any illnesses related to COVID-19. However, you always check with your dealer (The travel insurance industry is currently still working out its response to the COVID-19 pandemic).

We make some changes to the activities or destinations to comply with local authorities’ advice or health and safety protocols. Mainly if you are on one of the first trips, we suggest you travel with an open mind and heart, and a sense of flexibility will help you get the most out of your journey.

We follow the World Health Organization (WHO) advice and the Guatemalan Government regarding wearing masks.

The current recommendation is that if you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask to take care of a person with COVID-19. Or in a destination with widespread community transmission and when physical distancing is difficult. However, in some destinations, it may be compulsory to wear a mask in public or certain places; in these cases, we will follow local health authorities’ requirements.

You will need to source your masks from home. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with how to wear, handle and dispose of them when traveling safely.

We are working with our partners to provide hand sanitizer at accommodations, transport, and restaurants. But we also recommend bringing your supplies.

We based our journeys on twin share accommodation. Most of them have a single supplement available for solo travelers who do not wish to share a room. We are working with our accommodation providers to ensure that more rooms are available for those travelers who want to room alone.

When you have to choose between two roads, ask yourself which of them has a heart? Whoever selects the Heart path never makes a mistake.
