One of the favorite destinations for those looking for fun, sun, sea, nightlife, and some of the best waves to surf in all of America. A unique rock and the mouth of a river make up the setting for some of the best beaches in the Pacific. The different beaches of this country are known worldwide as the epicenter of surfing in Latin America, and its main distinction lies in the concentration of sites with perfect waves in a relatively short territorial extension. It also has an infinity of hotspots at a very short distance from each other, and the beaches of La Libertad, El Zonte, and El Tunco stand out.

Tazumal

Is the largest sacred Mayan site of the Chalchuapa archeological zone, which includes the nearby Casa Blanca, El Trapiche, and Las Victorias. Considered to be a Pre-classic site, it was part of an extensive trade network linked with Tak´alik Abaj (Guatemala), and with the Gulf of Mexico, having a strong Olmec style influence. Its main structure is the Structure B-1, a multi-tiered temple that rises up to 23 meters and adjoining it, on the southwest side, the Structure B1-2 that is set on a rectangular platform (not fully restored yet).
