Your Itinerary

Day 01Welcome to Guatemala (Heart of the Mayan world) and your visit to Antigua (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Welcome by your team at the Aurora International Airport (GUA) and your private transportation to the colonial and cosmopolitan city of La Antigua Guatemala, cataloged as a truly “Pueblo Magico” and probably the most visited one in the country.

Free and easy time to explore the cobblestone streets of Antigua and your unique surroundings (so try to arrive during the morning time to enjoy the sunset in Antigua with coffee). You know that Guatemala has one of the  best coffees in the world, right ?

Connect with the beautiful local people and international community, visit its colorful markets, handicraft stores, churches, the Calle del Arco (Arch street), El Mirador El Cerro de la Cruz (with a fantastic panoramic view of the city) and prepare yourself for your transformative and meaningful journey.

Meals: None.

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Antigua.

Activities: Wellcome transfer, sightseeing and free & easy time.

Day 02The Guatemalan Pacific Coast with the beautiful Monterrico and its uplifting adventures.

Morning breakfast and your trip to the Pacific Coast of the country for your easy-going and relaxed visit to the Monterrico beaches, located within the Monterrico-Hawaii Biotope. A stoning natural reserve that extends along more than 20 kilometers of coastline.

The reserve is located just next door to the Hawaii National Park, and encompasses both the beaches and mangroves, and the whole area is the perfect nesting hot spot for the Leatherback, Olive Ridley,  Lora and Green sea turtles.

Lunch and your visit to “el Tortuguero Monterrico”, located in the heart of the town, and a hatchery for turtles, where the eggs are reburied and allowed to hatch under protection.

So get ready to have the heart opening and rewarding opportunity to release some baby  turtles back to the sea during the sunset and continue through the night to look for the large turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs.

Without a doubt, this is the most incredible attraction around here. It is a rare and amazing moment when you get to hold a day-old turtle in your hand and then release it into the Big Blue or dark sea.

Meals: Breakfast.

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Monterrico.

Activities: Monterrico reserve exploration, El Tortuguero visit and tour (including the release of turtles) and night walking tour.

Day 03Monterrico free & easy

Breakfast and a free and easy day, perfect for meditation, yoga, or perhaps to read or hang out and integrate your experiences.

Monterrico is quite a small paradise and amazing for nature lovers, relaxing on the beach or spending some time with the locals. After all, this is a beach town with a laid-back atmosphere, with small roads made out of dirt and sand giving it the uniqueness of the village.

The particular thing about this beach is the sand (volcanic blacksand, due to the volcanic activity of the region). The riptide is strong and that’s why it’s perfect for turtles, because they just love the surf.

So get out there and experience it by yourself.

Meals: Breakfast.

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Monterrico.

Activities: Explore Monterrico free & easy.

Day 04The Pacaya active volcano; also known as the torch of the Americas and your lava encounters.

Typical breakfast and your transfer to the pacific coast until the Pacaya Volcano and Calderas Lagoon national park, so get ready for nature and adventure by hiking its interpretive trails of massive, rugged dried lava fields, magma stones, and steaming boilers (scorching).

The volcano is surrounded by magnificent and breathtaking views of the Agua, Fuego & Acatenango volcanoes.

This hike is the least challenging volcano hike, but that doesn’t mean that’s easy. It’s perfect for a group of travelers and families in search of a hot adventure.

Connect with the impressive volcano’s high energy, and prepare yourself for a lava show between the Pacaya and Acatenango volcano (both active ones), because just recently, Pacaya has become more active again.

Drive back to Antigua and because it is your last night, you and your friends are going to have the perfect time celebrating life and transformation with a delicious goodbye dinner.

Meals: Breakfast and dinner.

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Antigua.

Activities: Pacaya active volcano tour and goodbye dinner.
