June 17th Saturday - Day 01Welcome to Guatemala (Heart of the Mayan world) and Antigua Guatemala (free & easy).

Welcome by your team at the Aurora International Airport (GUA) and transportation to the cosmopolitan and colonial City of La Antigua Guatemala (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a “pueblo magico” full of charm and probably the most visited one in the country.

Free and easy time to explore your colonial surroundings (try to arrive before midday to enjoy the sunset in Antigua with tea, coffee, or drinks), begin to connect with the local people, international community and with your new friends on a welcoming dinner, and prepare yourself for your upcoming transformative journey.

Meals: Welcome dinner.

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Antigua.

Activities: Welcome transfer and sightseeing.

June 18th Sunday - Day 02Iximche Mayan sacred site (the Mayan tree of life) and the marvelous Atitlan Lake.

Morning typical breakfast and the beginning of your journey through the Mayan highlands, most known as the sectors of the indigenous Mayan culture alive. Areas surrounded by beautiful landscapes of mountains, volcanoes, indigenous communities, and all kinds of crops until Iximche (Ixim = Corn & Chee = Tree).

A very important and energetic sacred site where the ancient Mayans founded their last capital, exploration of its palaces, plazas, ball game, its museum, and its fire ceremonial space.

Continue your journey through the Mayan highlands until Panajachel for your boat ride to the holistic and charming town of San Marcos La Laguna where your retreat center is located.

Free and easy afternoon for you to connect and engage with your unique surroundings and make an integration activity followed by afternoon yoga.

Meals: Breakfast and dinner.

Activities: Drive to Lake Atitlan, Iximche visit, boat ride, free and easy afternoon.

June 19th Monday - Day 03Atitlan Lake with its indigenous communities and Mayan workshops of the picturesque San Juan La Laguna.

Aldous Huxley described Atitlan as “too much of a good thing, it touches the limit of the permissibly picturesque”.

Morning yoga, and a free and easy morning to develop any type of activity focused on your personal development followed by boat ride to cross the crystalline waters of the lake to explore and connect with the indigenous town of San Juan, in a day of ancestral knowledge by visiting and learning from their community social projects, focused on preserving alternative and natural medicine, primitivist painting, natural dyeing, and much more.

Boat back to your retreat center and time for you to continue with your integration activities followed by afternoon yoga.

Activities: Morning yoga, free and easy morning, boat rides Lake Atitlan, San Juan La Laguna visit and afternoon yoga.

June 20th Tuesday - Day 04Lake Atitlan free & easy and the healing Temazcal (or the house of the stones).

Morning yoga practice, breakfast and a free & easy day for you to take some time to rest, read or hang out, take notes, connect with your partners and explore more about yourself.

Yoga during the afternoon, and to end your day, the rewarding and healing experience of the traditional mayan sauna (or temazcal) and a campfire at night, for some history telling and more.

Meals: All. 

Lodging: Retreat Center Lake Atitlan. 

Activities: Morning yoga, free and easy, afternoon yoga, temazcal (Mayan sauna) and Bonfire.

June 21st Wednesday - Day 05Summer Solstice ritual, sacred mayan fire & cacao ceremony.

Morning yoga practice, breakfast and a free & easy morning for your daily practice followed up by your immersion in the Mayan calendar, its nahuales and mysticism with a Mayan sacred fire and cacao ritual to connect with the spirit of the “kakaw” also known by  the ancient Mayans as the “flesh of the Gods” and consider medicine for your heart and soul.

Afternoon yoga practice and dinner. 

Meals: All.

Lodging: Retreat Center Lake Atitlan. 

Activities: Morning yoga, free & easy morning and the summer solstice sacred fire and cacao ritual and afternoon yoga practice.

June 22nd Thursday - Day 06A cultural and artistic experience in Antigua Guatemala, and your goodbye dinner.

Goodbye magic Lake Atitlan with your last morning yoga practice at your retreat center, local breakfast and your boat trip back to the other side of the Lake (Panajachel), followed by your transport to Antigua for your walking experience on its cobblestone streets, visiting its central plaza, cathedral, jade stores (the sacred stone of the Mayans), it’s fantastic handicraft markets, and much more.

Visit a local cafe and try probably one of the best coffees you have ever tried, engage with the local people and artisans, take photos of Antigua´s unique charm including the Calle del Arco (Arch street) and El Mirador El Cerro de la Cruz (with a fantastic panoramic view of the city) and because its your last day in the heart of the Mayan World, Guatemaya, to end up your day, you are going to celebrate life and transformation with an special goodby dinner.   

Meals: Breakfast and dinner. 

Lodging: Boutique Hotel in Antigua.

Activities: Morning yoga, boat rides, drive to Antigua, Antigua walking tour and goodbye dinner.

June 23rd Friday - Day 07Final exit transfer to Guatemala City airport (GUA) and the end of your services.

Morning breakfast and your final transfer to the Airport.

Goodbye from your team and until the next time! Buen Camino.

Follow the instructions of your expert Tour leader / spiritual guide and local guides. They really know what they are doing. Ask them, question them, and also connect with them. They are going to surprise you.

Be prepared for the tropics and pack multiple changes of clothes: 

Clothing for warm and hot weather during the day: two pairs of pants, two pairs of shorts, three changes of shirts, a rain poncho, a swimsuit, and a sweater or jacket to wear at night. Walking shoes, hiking boots, sneakers, and sandals are all acceptable. 

Quick-dry clothing (especially a pair of convertible pants that zip at the knee to convert into shorts) is recommended for your visit to the tropical areas. 

Always bring a towel, and please don’t forget sunblock, bug spray, a flashlight, a sun hat, a lightweight raincoat or poncho, anti-diarrheal medicine, and wet wipes.

*Important reminder: Be conscious of what you pack, and always keep sustainability in mind.
